Supported File Formats

This page outlines all the file formats supported by the MagnoliaEd upload system for instructors.

Document Formats

Text Documents

PDF (.pdf) - Portable Document Format
Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx) - Word documents
Rich Text Format (.rtf) - Cross-platform text documents
Plain Text (.txt) - Simple text files

Presentations

Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx) - Presentation files
PDF (.pdf) - Static presentation format

Images

JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg) - Standard image format
PNG (.png) - Portable Network Graphics
GIF (.gif) - Graphics Interchange Format
WebP (.webp) - Modern image format

❌ Unsupported Formats

The following file types are not supported for security reasons:

Executable files (.exe, .app, .dmg)
Script files (.bat, .sh, .cmd)
System files (.dll, .sys)
Database files (.db, .sql)

File Format Conversion

If you have files in unsupported formats, consider converting them:
